During excavations at the Great Hermitage of Tatev, a previously unknown lithographic inscription was discovered. The expedition led by Arman Nalbandyan found the inscription after turning over the stone.

According to preliminary studies, the inscription may contain information about the history of the construction of the hermitage’s cells and about a person who lived there or was commemorated there. The inscription is currently being studied.

The excavations have also uncovered residential cells, utility structures, and a medieval spring. The work is ongoing.
