Russia is seeking a rapprochement between Syria and Turkey, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan could soon meet his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad.

According to the Iranian TV channel Al-Alam citing the Shaam Times website, Russian President Vladimir Putin has personally taken on the organization of this meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Syrian President Bashar al-Assad .

The Russian president had already tried a similar blow by trying to make the Qatari emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Bashar al-Assad sit down at the negotiating table.
