Armenian Ombudsman Arman Tatoyan met with the head of the Armenian Office of UNICEF Kristine Vaigand. 

Arman Tatoyan highly appreciated the active cooperation with UNICEF in the field of children’s rights protection. During the meeting, the parties discussed the protection of children’s rights in border and border villages as a result of the last war, in particular, issues related to the realization of the right to education. Arman Tatoyan presented violations of children’s rights, in particular, violation of the right to education. He noted that in some areas Azerbaijani armed officers are located in close proximity to schools, which is an absolutely unacceptable situation and contradicts international requirements for the protection of children’s rights.

During the meeting, the importance of further cooperation between the two institutions in the field of protection of children’s rights was noted.
