In Turkey and in occupied Western Armenia, 22 million 750 thousand children, who make up 27.2% of the total population, suffer from deprivation and poverty, various abuses and exploitation, the devastating consequences of war, being in prisons, as well as discrimination in obtaining education in their native language. 

In Turkey and in occupied Western Armenia, more than 10 million children cannot receive education in their native language. Since the founding of the Republic, Turkism as the only option, have been imposed neither on Muslim peoples, nor  on the Turkish population. The United Nations (UN) signed the Convention on the Rights of the Child on November 20, 1989 to protect children and improve their conditions in those countries where there is military situation and poverty. It entered into force on September 2, 1990. 

The agreement included four basic principles. 196 countries have become parties to the Convention. Turkey also put into circulation the convention on January 27, 1995, which is the most ratified “human rights document”, but the rights of children remained only on paper.
