After the restoration, the first liturgy was served in the destroyed Armenian Catholic Church of St. Hovsep in the city of Sur Tigranakert in Western Armenia.

Hundred years later, a ceremony was held in the church registered in the name of the Armenian Catholic Community, headed by the spiritual leader of the captured Western Armenia, Archbishop Levon Zekian. Speaking after the liturgy, Zekiyan expressed satisfaction with the completion of the restoration work.

The church, which was restored in accordance with its original form, was granted to the University of Digle for educational and cultural services for a period of ten years, provided that in the case of religious rites, permission will be granted to the Armenian Catholic Community to occupy the church.
