The Armenian Catholic Church of St. Hovhannes, located in the village of Sohrol in the Iranian province of East Atrpatakan, is included in the list of “must see ” places. We are talking about the Church of St. John, dating from the 5th century.

The Armenian Catholic Church in northwestern Iran, also known as Sohreke Monastery (Sahrol), was built around the 5th century. In 1968, it was included in the National Heritage List. The church of the village of Sokhrol has been reconstructed several times, including after the destruction as a result of earthquakes.
