The international coalition led by the United States has completed the withdrawal of troops from Iraq, but has maintained a presence at the level of military advisers.

This was announced by the representative of the General Staff of the Iraqi Armed Forces, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji. “The withdrawal operation was successful,” he said, noting that the military advisers still remaining in the country will help in the fight against terrorism. On January 5, the Iraqi Parliament adopted a resolution demanding the withdrawal of all foreign forces from the territory of the republic.
