Hartashen is a village in the Hadrut region of the Republic of Artsakh, which is currently but temporarily under the control of the armed forces of Azerbaijan. The village is located in the southeastern part of the republic, it is 71 km from the capital Stepanakert. The community is lowland, has an area of 357 hectares, of which 304 hectares of agricultural land and 3.2 hectares of forest land. The only historical and cultural monument of the community is a cemetery that has existed since the 17th century.
According to the latest data, the population of the community was 91 people, there were 31 farms in the village. The population is mainly engaged in agriculture- cattle breeding and farming. There was a rural municipality, a medical center in the community, however students went to Ukhtadzor secondary school.
