On January 12, the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (CONIFA) announced that The European Cup will be held in Nice from June 3 to 12, 2022. The unrecognized FIFA European Election Championship, organized by CONIFA. Founded in 2013, it consists of teams of unrepresented nations and peoples outside FIFA. The Confederation is an association of 63 members (independent States, unrecognized States, autonomous States, national minorities) under the chairmanship of the former Swedish international professional judge Per-Anders Blind.

In 2014, the Nice football team won the CONIFA World Championship. The 2021 European Cup, which was supposed to be held in Nice, was canceled due to the Covid-19 crisis, as in 2020. After a two-year absence, the teams have become more impatient.

Four groups of the 2022 Championship:

Group A. Nice, Two Sicilies, Sardinia

Group B: Abkhazia, Lapland, Sekely Land

Group C: South Ossetia, Artsakh, Cornwall

Group D: Padania, Western Armenia, Hameria
