On May 24, the presentation of the English-language website “Cultural heritage of Artsakh, dating in the name of preservation” took place at the Center of Francophonie “House of Paul Eluard” in Stepanakert. The authors of the project are Aspet Gochikyan, an international expert, and the head of the Matenadaran Museum section after Mesrop Mashtots, Senior Researcher Nazeni Gharibyan, they were supported by monument expert Gagik Sargsyan. The website was created with the funding of the General Armenian Charitable Union. According to Aspet Gochikyan, the goal was to create a website that would be accessible to foreign analysts and become a source for their research. “We have accumulated information about monuments during the work carried out within the framework of the program “accounting historical and cultural monuments of Artsakh” organized by the Government of the Republic of Artsakh. We have compiled a list of information about 4000 monuments. In the course of our work, we also found castles, and only in Qashatakh district we found 37 castles, in Karvachar district – 10,” noted archaeologist Gagik Sargsyan.
