By the decision of the Government of the Republic of Armenia dated May 26, 2022, the historical and cultural reserve “Agdzk” was established in the village of Agdzk of the Ashtarak community of the Aragatsotn region of the Republic of Armenia. The famous tomb of the 4th century Arshakuni kings is located in Agdzk, where the captured and returned remains of both pagan and Christian Armenian kings were buried. The mausoleum, according to approximate estimates, was built in 364. Excavations around the mausoleum revealed the foundation of the aboveground part of the tomb and some other remains. It should be noted that there are 14 museum-reserves in Armenia, 8 of which are historical and cultural reserves.
