The first meeting of the State Council for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of the Occupied Territories of the Republic of Artsakh was held on June 13 under the chairmanship of the State Minister of the Republic of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan. “Especially after the war, the council was formed with the need to coordinate the work on the protection of the cultural heritage of the occupied territories of the Republic of Artsakh in order to unite the efforts of state bodies and expert circles of the two Armenian states.

Among the functions of the Council is monitoring and recording encroachments and crimes against our cultural heritage, presenting facts on various international platforms,” Artak Beglaryan noted.

Taking into account the state policy of cultural genocide on the part of Azerbaijan in the occupied territories, as well as consistent activities to conceal, distort facts and appropriate cultural heritage, the Minister of State stressed that the Council will have a large-scale and coordinated work in order to use the potential of all state, expert and public circles for its goals.
