The church was built by architect Sargis with the assistance of Catholicos Simeon and his brother Ignatius Vardapet. The monastery complex consists of one church,  monks’ rooms, defensive structures, and a cemetery. The monument is completely assimilated into the unique nature, presenting itself as an integral part.
