On June 22-25, with the assistance of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian-Georgian open-air festival “A joint look at Samtskhe-Javakheti” was held in Javakhk, within the framework of which an exhibition of the same name was opened. About 25 Armenian and Georgian artists from Yerevan, Tbilisi and Javakhk toured different villages and towns of Javakhk for four days in a row, visited the sights and transferred what they saw and experienced to the canvas. Within the framework of the festival, the Armenian-Georgian exhibition “A joint look at Samtskhe-Javakheti” was opened in the city of Akhaltsikhe, where about 70 canvases of the festival participants were shown. According to Samvel Mkoyan, Executive Director of the foundation “Assistance to Javakhk”, the foundation attaches great importance to the development of the cultural sphere, which is clearly proved by such festivals and exhibitions. Chairman of the Union of Artists of Armenia Suren Safaryan, joining all congratulations, noted the importance of cultural ties with Javakhk. Western Armenia highly appreciates the involvement of Armenian Javakhk artists and the representation of Armenian culture through painting.
