The most peculiar and, perhaps, the most ancient holiday celebrated by the Armenian people for thousands of years with great enthusiasm, Vardavar is also celebrated by the people of Hamshen. Vardavar is one of the brightest days from the millennial past of the Hamshenians. Previously, no one prevented this holiday from lasting for several days, now it is also a number of festivals and celebrations. They wore their most beautiful clothes. The mules were beautifully decorated, accompanied by the songs, a round dance was caught and games were sung. “Behurs” were that special time when young people got to know each other and fell in love with each other. They gathered and had fun in certain places. However, Vardavar is known as a day symbolizing well-being, and this is how this holiday is perceived by the Hamshenians.
