Iran and Armenia will not allow interference in the issue of their common border, and in this matter they do not need consultations from third countries, including Turkey. This was stated by the chairman of the commission on border issues in the Commission on Foreign Policy and National Security of the Iranian Parliament, Shahriar Heydari, IRIB reports. He recalled that the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Aliyah Syed Khamenei, said this at a meeting with the presidents of Turkey and Russia in Tehran. He noted that Armenia occupies a strategic position in the region, which has caused its many problems, one of them being the Artsakh conflict. However, according to Shahriar Heydari, the problem should be solved seriously and diplomatically. Iran has always stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan should resolve this issue through political means.
