“Tamzara” is a special dance, common in most of the Armenian highlands. Villages and cities had their own local variants. Some experts suggest that the dance originates from the village of Tamzara in the Northeastern region of Sebastia. Arabkir is located next to Kharberd, and in the Arabkir “Tamzara” the character and influence of Kharberd’s performance of “Tamzara” is noticeable. This version of the Arabkir “Tamzara” is common in Pennsylvania counties/New York/New Jersey in the USA.
