In Western Armenia, ceremonial dances were performed in everyday life in connection with weddings, funeral rites and other rites. There are ritual dances that are performed only during the annual holidays. With the help of dance movements, people tried to depict some processes and perform serious ceremonial rites. Through them they asked the gods for some gifts. And when they already received the desired reward, they again expressed gratitude through ritual dances. The Armenians treated the dance very carefully and seriously. Ritual dances were also distinguished by the unique symbolism of their movements.
