Holy Vatican. A ceremony dedicated to the ritual feast of Grigor Narekatsi took place in St. Peter’s Cathedral.

Armenian Ambassador Karen Nazaryan, Armenian Catholicos-Patriarch of the Great House of Cilicia were present at the ceremony. Raphael Petros Minasyan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of RA Paruyr Hovhannisyan, who arrived at the Vatican for a working visit, and other representatives of the exiled Armenians.

In their speech, Archbishop Gujerotti and Ambassador Nazaryan referred to the spiritual literary legacy of the “principle of peace” (as Pope Francis called Narekatsi). The RA Ambassador specifically noted that the commemoration of the great Armenian saint by the Ecumenical Church is an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of the international community to build a civilization of solidarity at the national and global levels. K. Nazaryan added that throughout their millennia of history, the Armenian people have never succumbed to wars, aggression, ethnic cleansing policies, genocide, pogroms and other hardships imposed by their neighbors, and have continued to embrace peace and universal Christian ideals.

It is no secret that civilization was formed in the Armenian highlands, one of the many examples is the great thinker and cosmic priest Grigor Narekatsi, who was born in the village of Narek, Vaspurakan province, Western Armenia․
