Armenak Vrezh Abrahamian, 63 years old, professor, founder and master of Armenian martial arts “Hay Djampa”.

His roots are from Western Armenia,  Karin and Sebastia (Sivas).

Armenak Abrahamian started his military way in August 1990 as a member of the 44th Central Headquarters of the Yerkrapah Conscripts, based on the training of the youth and detachments of the Abaran region.

From November 1991 to March 1993 he took part in the military operations for the liberation of the NKR territories as the Chief Instructor of the “Liberation Army” detachment and took part in the defensive battles of Martakert and its villages.

In April 1992, for the operation to liberate Shushi, he trained freedom fighters at the Stepanakert central headquarters with General Arkady Ter Tadevosyan.

In May 1992, together with the heroic commanders of the “Liberation Army” detachment Leonid Azgaldyan and Vladimir Balayan, he took part in the defense of Chaylu and Talish.

In June-July 1992, after the death of heroic commanders Leonid Azgaldyan and Vladimir Balayan, he took part in the defense of Martakert, Vaghuhas, Vanq and Gandzasar.

On July 22, 1992, during the liberation of Mokhratar hill, he was severely wounded in the head and in the right-leg. He was taken to Drmbon Field Hospital and then to Yerevan Republican Hospital, where he met Bekor-Ashot Ghulyan. 

On August 15, 1992, following the call of the Minister of Defense Vazgen Sargsyan and Hovsep Hovsepyan, he was enlisted the “Eagle Suicide Squad” as the special instructor of the Battalion.

Participated in the defense and liberation battles of the villages of the Martakert region of the NKR, Vaghuhas, Chldran, Drmbon, Umudlu and the liberation battles. He took part in various military operations until December 1992.

From February 1993, by the order of the founding commander of the Vardenis military unit, Colonel Hovsep Hovsepyan, he trained special forces and in April 1993 took part in the operations in Kelbajar and Mrav.

In June 1993, he took part in the liberation battles on the territory of the NKR and the protection of the RA borders until the May 12, 1994 ceasefire.

From October 1, 1993 to December 31, 1994, by the order of Colonel Vachagan Ishkhanyan, he was appointed Commander of the Special Forces of the Shushi military unit.

He seriously injured his leg during training.

According to the RA Minister of Defense Decree No. 586 of December 20, 1996, he was awarded for the Participation in Combat Operations in 1992-1994 – Certificate No. 018974

In 2003, by the order  No. 24 of Major-General V․ Balasanian, President of the Artsakh War Veterans Union – Armenak Vrezh Abrahamyan was appointed as the official Representative of the Artsakh War Veterans Union in France.

From 1991 to present – Volunteer for the protection of the people and human rights of Artsakh.

From March 21, 2014 to June 2017, he took part in various military operations to protect the Armenians of Cilicia (Kessab) and is the founder of the Qamishli Military Academy.

In 2005 he was the Founding President of the Assembly of Armenians of Western Armenia.

He has been the first citizen of Western Armenia since 2005.

Since 2006 he has been the Head of the Western Armenia Delegation to the UN.

He has been a Founding Member of the Government of Western Armenia since 2011.

He has been a Founding Member of the Parliament of Western Armenia since 2013.

In 2013 he was elected a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Western Armenia for a term of 5 years.

On January 19, 2014, he was elected President of the Republic of Western Armenia by the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Western Armenia for a term of 5 years.

On May 9, 2016, as President of the Republic of Western Armenia, he adopted the National Constitution of the Republic of Western Armenia.

On June 24, 2016, he ratified the Treaty of Sevres as President of the Republic of Western Armenia.

On February 12, 2017, as President of the Republic of Western Armenia, he ratified the Military Doctrine of the Republic of Western Armenia.

On October 29, 2017, by the unanimous vote of the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Western Armenia, he officially decided to run for President of the Republic of Western Armenia during the 2018 elections in the Republic of Western Armenia.

In 2018 he was elected a deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Western Armenia for a term of 5 years.

On January 19, 2019, he was elected for the second time for a term of 5 years as the President of the Republic of Western Armenia, by the deputies of the National Assembly of the Republic of Western Armenia.

On February 15, 2023, for the third time, he is a candidate in the parliamentary elections to become a deputy of the Parliament of the Republic of Western Armenia.
