At today’s session, the Yerevan Mayor’s Council approved the erection of a monument in memory of the Armenian national hero, singer, songwriter and public figure Charles Aznavour on France Square in Yerevan.

It should be noted that the Standing Committee on Culture, Education and Social Affairs of the Yerevan Mayor’s Council was presented with a project in which it was planned to place the statue of Charles Aznavour in the center of France Square and relocate the statue of Jules Bastien Lepage by sculptor Auguste Rodin. 

The Council adopted the resolution unanimously with 49 votes.
