Western Armenia Armenag Aprahamian congratulated President Bashar Al-Assad on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Syrian Arab Republic. 

The message said: On behalf of myself and all the Armenian people, I congratulate you on the occasion of Syria’s Independence Day and wish you peaceful skies and prosperity.

Syria is one of the countries that gave refuge to Armenians who narrowly escaped the genocide. We express our gratitude to you and the brotherly people of Syria. 

We are sure that our age-old friendship is indestructible.
