“The United States of America is deeply concerned that Azerbaijan’s establishment of a checkpoint on the Berdzor road is undermining efforts to build confidence in the peace process,” said Vendant Patel, deputy spokesman for the U.S. State Department. “We reiterate that there should be free and open movement of people and commerce along the Berdzor Road and call on the parties to resume peace talks and refrain from provocations and hostile actions along the border.”
