Mayor Jean Leonetti wrote on his Facebook page:

108 years ago, on April 24, 1915, began the genocide against the Armenians by the Ottoman Empire.

In memory of the 1.5 million victims, we unveil, in the presence of the Deputy of the National Assembly of the 7th Circumscription Alpes-Maritimes, Eric Pauget, a commemorative stele at the cemetery of Semboules, on which is written:

“In memory of the victims of the genocide against the Armenians of 1915, Armenian fighters who died for France and veterans of the resistance.”

The ceremony was attended by the President of the National Council of Western Armenia Armenag Aprahamian, the President of ANACAS Vrej Aprahamian and the President of AACRFOA Jean Ghazarossian, as well as many guests.
