Eastern Armenia, Iran and India are working on the project of international transport corridor “Persian Gulf-Black Sea”. The Indian side considers Armenia as a bridge, with the help of which goods from India will be able to enter the multi-million market of the EEU. Speaking to Sputnik Armenia, the President of the Indian Trade and Economic Organization, Asif Iqbal, said the issue is being discussed at the level of the leaders of the three countries, but it is planned to involve the private sector in the project as well.
“In 2024, India will become an observer country of the EEU. This is another circumstance to deepen cooperation with Armenia in all directions, including in the field of defense,” Iqbal said, adding that in the near future, an attaché for defense issues will be appointed at the Indian embassy in Armenia.
