A statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia reads in part

On June 13, the armed forces of Baku, once again resorting to the use of force, opened fire on the positions of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia and on civilian facilities near the Yeraskh settlement of the Republic of Armenia.

It is noteworthy that the Baku side aimed fire at the metal works under construction in Yeraskh involving foreign investments.

This was preceded by false accusations from Baku to the Armenian side regarding the construction of the mentioned plant.

The Republic of Armenia had previously stated that the construction of the plant was in full compliance with its international obligations.

By shelling the plant under construction, Baku is now demonstrating open defiance of Armenia’s internationally recognized borders.

Moreover, Baku is consistent in proving that, in every aspect of the negotiation process with the Republic of Armenia, it is guided by the principle of imposing its desired solutions on the Republic of Armenia through the illegal use of force, with weak and permissive response of the international community.
