Garik Karapetyan (102 kg), a member of the Armenian weightlifting team, won a gold medal at the European U20 Weightlifting Championships, which are about to come to a close in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. According to “Armenpress”, the Armenian weightlifter recorded a result of 386 kg (181+205) and stood on the top step of the honor platform in the U20 competition. 

Garik Karapetyan was also crowned champion of the European Adult Championship held in Yerevan in April, with a result of 392 kg in the double event. The European Youth Championship runs from July 23 to August 3.
