The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the opportunities provided to Moscow to support the release of Armenian prisoners captured by Baku, especially during the 44-day war. “If these are Russian citizens, regardless of where they experienced tragic events or found themselves in a difficult situation, we will of course provide them with assistance to the best of our ability. If we do not speak Russian citizens, and in this case we are talking about the territory related to Artsakh, so it is better to ask this question to the authorities of Baku and Armenia,” he noted.
Zakharova emphasized that Moscow has repeatedly called on its partners to complete the exchange of prisoners according to the “all for all” principle in bilateral and trilateral formats. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry believes that the best conditions have now been created for this. “We hope this issue will be resolved successfully,” he added.
