Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdolahian had a telephone conversation during which, among other things, they discussed the situation in the South Caucasus. The Russian Foreign Ministry published a message on this subject.

It is noteworthy that the foreign ministers of Russia and Iran expressed support for the immediate resumption of joint work within the framework of the 3+3 regional consultative format.

The parties also discussed current issues in the Middle East region, against the backdrop of the latest escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. They stressed the importance of ending the armed confrontation as quickly as possible and resolving the situation on the basis of known international law.
