The International Court of Justice still has time to prevent the forced displacement of ethnic Armenians from becoming irreversible. This was announced today by Yeghishe Kirakosyan, Representative of Eastern Armenia for International Legal Issues, addressing representatives of the Court during the hearing of the case “Armenia against Azerbaijan” at the International Court of United Nations Justice.

The representative of Eastern Armenia mentioned that Baku has repeatedly shown that it is ready to deceive the international community, that it is also ready to distort the decisions of the courts or try to justify through them its violations of the agreement.

“In the given circumstances, it will only be possible to prevent the ethnic cleansing carried out by the Baku government, to prevent it from continuing and becoming irreversible, to guarantee the preservation of the thousand-year-old cultural presence of Armenians in Artsakh and to “prevent its complete erasure, only with international measures protecting the rights of Artsakh Armenians, something that has already been done in Nakhchivan and is being done today in other districts of Baku,” he said. he declares.

Yeghishe Kirakosyan is convinced that the court’s interim measures can also protect the kidnapped military and political leaders of Artsakh from false accusations.

However, he warns that if there is any ambiguity in the court’s decision, Baku will exploit it and ensure the permanent destruction of Armenia’s presence and history in Artsakh.
