President of Western Armenia Armenag Aprahamian, Prime Minister Seda Melikyan and Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Harutyunyan carried out a two-day mission to the regions of Eastern Armenia.

  On October 13 and 14, they paid a two-day visit to the Vayots Dzor and Gegharkunik regions. On October 13, they went to the village of Artabuk of the Yeghegis community, where they paid tribute to Norayr Soghomonyan, son of Western Armenia, hero who died during the 44-day war, who received as posthumously the high title of citizen of Western Armenia, and the house museum named after Norayr Soghomonyan, where the flag of Western Armenia flies.

They took note in the memorial book, got acquainted with the details of the hero’s life and understood what system of values ​​is formed in today’s heroic youth, who do not hesitate for a second to sacrifice their lives for the good of the homeland and the value of a system of which they are the bearers. It was with a great feeling of pride that they returned to Yerevan, aware that the Defenders of the Fatherland always remain firmly in their positions.

On October 14, Mr. Aprahamian, Ms. Melikyan and Ms. Harutyunyan visited Mets Masrik village of Gegharkunik region. They became familiar with the life of the border village, the daily life of schoolchildren. In the second primary school of Mets Masrik, whose painting class is sponsored by the government of Western Armenia, represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ms. Lydia Margossian. They got acquainted with the works of the children of the drawing group, mainly those who are expected to participate in the interregional competition at the end of November this year. Mets Masrik is also a border village and has its own characteristics, specific to all similar villages. They have studied in detail all the issues that concern them. Encouraged by the children’s obvious optimism for the future, they returned to Yerevan, bringing with them their message and their promise.
