The European Parliament is a political body and will consistently ensure the implementation of the three principles. The President of the European Parliament, Roberta Mezzola, announced this during a press conference in Strasbourg.
He answered the journalist’s question whether the EU has adopted a resolution and report to impose sanctions on Baku and whether the European Parliament will take active steps in this direction.
“It is no coincidence that this Parliament accepted such reports and called for the start of peace negotiations as quickly as possible,” he stressed.
Metsola also said he welcomed the meeting agreed between Eastern Armenia and Baku and which will be held at the end of October with the participation of Charles Michel.
“The peace negotiations are important for us in terms of demarcating the border with Baku, opening communication channels and resolving humanitarian issues. The events of the last month are very worrying, which is why we call for the peace and humanitarian protection,” he announced.
