US presidential candidates Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley and Vivek Ramaswamy have strongly condemned Baku’s ethnic cleansing of Christian Armenians in Artsakh.
They made the announcements at “The Family Leader” conference, hosted by conference president Bob Vander Platts.
Noting that Armenians are the first Christian people and citing the ethnic cleansing of Armenian Christians in Baku, Vander Platts asked the three candidates how they would ensure this bastion of Christianity is preserved.
In response to this question, Desantis said: “I think the United States should stand with the Christians of Armenia. I think it’s a noble cause.”
Nikki Haley emphasized in her response that what happened in Baku is ridiculous. “We have to announce it in Baku.”
Vivek Ramaswami gave a more detailed response.
“120,000 Armenians, considered the oldest Christian nation in the world, had to leave their homes. And there is an even dirtier secret behind this. We, the American government, are paying the price,” Ramaswamy said.
Ramaswamy also criticized the Biden administration for lifting Section 907 restrictions on Baku and inciting ethnic cleansing of Armenians.
