The official CONIFA website announced that the #Sportsbetio World Football Cup 2020 will be held in the capital of the Republic of Northern Macedonia, Skopje from May 30 to June 7, 2020.
This was reported by the Confederation of Independent Football Associations (ConIFA), Secretary General Sascha Düerkop.
The tournament was originally planned to take place in Somaliland, but ConIFA had to cancel it due to security considerations that the host country could not meet.
Following its second participation in London in 2018, the National Football Team of the Western Armenia plans to participate in the 4th games of this international sporting tournament.
16 teams from 56 members of ConIFA representing 6 continents will be selected.
Օn January 19, 1920 the Allied Supreme Council at Paris Conference de facto and on May 11, 1920 at San Remo Conference de jure recognized the Armenian state in Western Armenia as an independent and sovereign state which boundary with Turkey was the subject of an arbitral award by the United States President Woodrow Wilson on November 22, 1920․ In the occupied territories of Western Armenia from 1894 to 1923 the Armenian indigenous population was subjected to Genocide by three Turkish governments.
Western Armenia, which now has 10 million inhabitants, has a common history with Northern Macedonia, which has two million inhabitants: geographically, these are both essentially mountainous countries and historically, their peoples have both faced the Turkish invaders (5 centuries for Macedonia and 6 centuries for Western Armenia).
Northern Macedonia is a successor state of the Serb-Croat-Slovene state, which recognized the independence of Western Armenia and signed the Treaty of Sèvres on August 10, 1920.
