The European Union has consistently expressed its support for measures to prevent genocide and commemorates the victims of the peoples who suffered this fate, said the head of the EU delegation in Armenia Andrea Victorin.
According to her, the past should not be forgotten since a worthy future is possible only if the ‘dark sides’ of the past are accepted.
The ambassador noted that every year in April, they join in the commemoration of the victims of the crime against Armenians. It is necessary to exclude the events that took place in the Ottoman Empire more than a century ago. “Crimes against the Armenian people must not be forgotten,” she mentioned.
