The true habitat of the adonis flower, listed in the list of endangered plants of the Red Book, is the wildlife of the Tunceli province of Western Armenia. This flower was discovered by Russian naturalist and historian Peter Alexandrovich Chikhachev in 1867 and has not been registered since that day.

It is also called “Rooster Rose” and “Yellow Mountain Rose” in the language of the locals, and has entered into the literature as an endemic plant species of Western Armenia.

Recently, research revealed that the main habitat of adonis (kuzhkotruk) is Tunceli, and hundreds of flowers of that breed were found there.
