Currently, the restoration works of the Dvin ancient site in Hnaberd community of Ararat region have passed the design stage. The design work was carried out by the Bedrosyan Architectural Office.
In Dvin ancient site, three monuments are planned to be strengthened and restored.
The works are carried out by the Territorial Development Fund of Armenia with credit funds received from the World Bank and co-financed by the Government of the Republic of Armenia. In the first stage, the investment will amount to about 145 million drams.
The works are divided into two stages, in the first stage the task is set carefully and without damaging the architectural structure to restore, after which the work on the creation of tourist infrastructure will begin.
Dvin is one of the historical capitals of Armenia. It was founded in the first half of the 4th century. The ruins of the capital Dvin are not far from Yerevan. For decades, excavations have uncovered the remains of religious and secular architectural buildings in the central citadel area of the city.
