The historical capital Ani, of which only the ruins on the west coast of Akhuryan are left today, suffers from the careless attitude of some visitors.

The walls of the historical buildings of Ani, which were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2016, are now painted, carved and scratched by visitors. All this provoked the anger of a number of visitors, who demanded to clear all the records and treat these historical structures with special care.
