During the excavations of a place called Kahin Hill of Western Armenia, the ruins of an ancient temple were discovered. The project consultant Nurperi Ayengin, announcing that there is an important settlement in the inner layers of the area, said in particular: “We have discovered a settlement, which dates back to the 12th-7th centuries BC.
We think it was a place of worship where people worshiped at certain times of the year, shared their hunting and sculpted images of animals. ”
Explaining that stone carvings were discovered along with the architectural works, Ayengin expressed the following opinion: “Kahin Hill is very similar to Portasar. The works found here are similar. Especially when we look at the hybrid works, the spiritual cult images, we can say that this is one of the most similar settlements to Portasar.”
