Excavations in Perre Old Town, which began in 2001 and ended in 2009, resumed in 2020.

As a result of the excavations, it turned out that the mausoleum area was later turned into a residential area.

Numerous coins and ceramic items belonging to the Roman and Byzantine period from the 3rd to the 6th century were found. In addition, many old lamps, bracelets, pieces of glass and ceramics and roof tiles were found during the excavations. Two sarcophaguses were found in a rock dug in the area.
