The 16th International Zhautykov Olympiad was held in Almaty from January 8-14 with 588 students from 20 countries competing for the title of the most talented in exact sciences. The students were given mathematics, physics and computer science tasks.

Apart from Quantum College, the Armenian team was represented by students of the Physics and Mathematics Specialized School in Yerevan. 1005 students from 20 countries participated in the Olympiad.

As the Department of Public Relations and Information of The ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of The Republic of Armenia informed Armenpress, Armenian team won 10 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals. The team of Quantum College won 5 gold and 2 bronze medals, taking first place in the team standings, and a team of the School of Physics and Mathematics won 3 gold and 3 silver medals, winning an honorary prize. The second team of the School of Physics and Mathematics won 2 gold and 2 silver medals.
