French Culture Days will be held in Armenia, dedicated to the International Day of La Francophonie.
During the press conference dedicated to the respective upcoming events, French ambassador to Armenia Jonathan Lacote thanked the Armenian authorities for supporting the development of the French language and culture.
“Armenia is a member of the International Organization of La Francophonie, so we’ll have a lasting cooperation. We all understand very well that Armenia has recently faced great difficulties and challenges, but we think that the Armenian-French friendship is important even in this context, to continue cooperating and celebrating the culture of the Francophonie. It has been 10 years since Armenia decided to follow the values of the Francophonie, to join the International Organization of the Francophonie, which is not only an organization, but has different values. More than 300 million people in the world speak French, French is the 5th most spoken language in the world, it is the third working language and the 4th most used on the Internet. “French is the fastest spreading language in the world,” he said.
