
A memorandum of cooperation was recently signed between the Mesrop Mashtots Matenadaran and the University of Hamburg. The initiative of Michael Friedrich, Director of the Center for the Study of Manuscript Cultures at the University of Hamburg, and Vahan Ter-Ghevondyan, Director of Matenadaran, will boost direct and mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries in the field of manuscript preservation and manuscript heritage research.
The cooperation plans training of highly qualified specialists in the fields of manuscripts, manuscript preservation, restoration, cataloging, digitalization, as well as exchange of scientific experience, implementation of joint programs, bilateral visits of specialists and researchers.
