A concert entitled “Crossroads of French Music” will be presented at the Komitas Chamber Music Hall within the framework of the Francophonie Days on April 29.

As reported by “Armenpress“, the Yerevan State Chamber Choir (conductor: Christina Voskanyan), “Tagharan” ensemble of ancient music (artistic director, conductor – Honored Cultural Worker of the Republic of Armenia Sedrak Yerkanyan) will perform during the concert.

The works of French composers Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Jean-Batiste Lully, Pierre Bonnet and others will be performed.

The term “Francophonie” was put in use in 1880 by the French geographer Onesim Gheklu. He used the term to describe people and countries who speak French. The word “Francophonie” comes from the word “French”.
