Azerbaijani refugees in the 1990s complain that state officials have forgotten about them. In fact, Azerbaijan has no “refugees” because all of them immediately got Azerbaijani citizenship, and many of them settled in the homes of deported Armenians who escaped the massacres.

During many years of the negotiation process, the leader of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, insisted that the Azeri refugees who had left Karabakh during the first war in the 1990s return home to Artsakh.

But Azerbaijani officials completely forgot about them after last year’s war.

The refugees have been living in inhumane conditions in Azerbaijan all these years, waiting for more than 30 years.

Aliyev decided that the apartments for the Azeris deported from Artsakh would now be provided to the families of the martyrs.

Of course, satisfying their dictatorial aspirations, the authorities became ill with dementia, forgetting about the existence of these “refugees”.
