A workshop on Armenian folk dances was organized in Kharberd, in occupied Western Armenia, with the aim of reviving Armenian cultural roots and restoring them in their historic homeland.

Participants were taught traditional Armenian dances, including Govand, Tamzara (including the Kharberd variation), and Msho Kochari.

During the workshop, Kharberd’s “Tamzara” was also performed by John Berberian, Mal Barsamian, Bruce Gigarjian, and Ron Tutunjian.

The event was organized at the initiative of the French NGO YERKIR, with the goal of preserving, passing on, and reviving Armenian folk dance heritage in its historic homeland.
