On August 8, the Equinox Music Festival will be held for the first time at Garni Temple, bringing together Armenian ethnic melodies and contemporary electronic music in live performances on a single stage.
The festival will feature Jivan Gasparyan Jr. (duduk), Arto Tunçboyacıyan (percussion and vocals), Artyom Manukyan (cello), Nikolay Madoyan (violin), Anahit Vardanyan (electronic keyboards), while the special guest will be Greek DJ Echonomist.
According to the founder of the initiative, Tovmas Martirosyan, a live concert in this format has never before been held in Armenia. The program will also include several premieres, with musicians presenting unique combinations of ethnic and electronic music on stage.
The organizers aim to promote Armenia’s historical and cultural monuments through music. It is planned that the Equinox Festival will become a recurring initiative, taking place four times a year during different seasons at various historical and cultural sites across Armenia.
