Large-scale Dance Flashmob Dedicated to Gagik Ginosyan

Since 1982, on the initiative of UNESCO's International Dance Council (CID), April 29 is celebrated as International Dance Day.

Choreographer Pyotr Gusev proposed the date. And the day was not chosen by chance either. French choreographer, ballet theoretician, reformer Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), known in history as the "father of modern ballet", was born on April 29.

Nover was the first to stage independent dance performances.

On the occasion of International Dance Day, on April 29, a large-scale dance flashmob will take place at the entrance of Yerevan State Theatre.  It is dedicated to the vivid memory of Yerevan State Theatre lecturer Gagik Ginosyan.

And from 11:00 to 13:00, the cultural program "Dance Festival in the National Spirit" will take place in the Republic Square with the participation of dholahars of the capital and regional music schools, traditional ensembles, state ensembles and other dance groups.

The organizer is Artur Harutyunyan, a lecturer of the choreography department of Yerevan State Theatre.
