On May 21, 2026, renowned musician and composer Ara Gevorgyan presented to the public his widely acclaimed music video “Revival,” created within the framework of the “1000 Dhol” cultural initiative. With its scale and ideological depth, the project has become an exceptional phenomenon in Armenian cultural life and has been officially registered in the Guinness World Records.

The filming of the project took place in the Ararat Valley, beneath the symbolic panorama of the majestic mountains Ararat and Aragats. Initially, the participation of around one thousand dhol players was planned, but the initiative exceeded all expectations, bringing together more than 1,400 musicians and dance ensembles. Young people from border communities also participated in the program within the framework of the “1000 Shields” initiative.

The composition “Revival” has a distinctly symbolic structure: it begins with powerful, almost martial drum rhythms, then gradually transforms into a musical image of reconciliation and unity, culminating in the performance of Komitas’ “Ter Vogormya” hymn. This musical transition symbolizes the movement from division toward harmony.

According to the creators, the ideological core of the video is overcoming the divisions existing within society. As Ara Gevorgyan noted, the idea for the project was born from an incident involving twin brothers, which led him to reflect on societal “division” and the necessity of unity.

In the music video, this idea is also presented through biblical symbolism, using the figures of Cain and Abel, who ultimately reconcile. In the end, the overall image viewed from above forms a single word: “LOVE.”

Thus, the “1000 Dhol” project is not only a large-scale musical and audiovisual initiative, but also a nationwide symbol aimed at strengthening unity, peace, and cultural identity.
