TheJubilee events  to the 100th Anniversary of Sergey Parajanov in   UNESCO with the Film  “The Color of Pomegranate”

The jubilee events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Sergey Parajanov started on April 3 at the UNESCO.

The events started with the screening of Parajanov's film "The Color of Pomegranate", followed by a discussion on the creative heritage of the famous artist.

Before watching the film, Ernesto Ottone, Deputy Director General of UNESCO for Cultural Affairs, made a speech of welcome, valuing the artist Parajanov and his legacy.

After watching the film, there was a discussion led by the French-Armenian director,  actor Serzh Avetikyan.

Valerie Posner, Patrick Casals and Levon Abrahamyan were speakers of the events.

Parajanov's phenomenon was interpreted in the speeches, valuing his creative heritage, presenting Parajanov who was ethnographer, screenwriter and director.

 

They highlighted Parajanov's genius in terms of creating such a mysterious, free and deep-thinking film in the USSR.

As part of the jubilee events, a photo exhibition dedicated to Sergey Parajanov and the "Cinema Temple" installation, which is based on the film "The Color of the Pomegranate", will be held at the UNESCO headquarters from April 3-10.
